Please always check dates, as they sometimes change. The famous jazz festival was once held in the end of July instead of June.

January

New year celebration; Uniquely Thai traditional and cultural festivities are held in various parts of the city. As the day breaks on de 1st of new year the welcome the dawn takes place, the Buddhist merit making ritual

Also in January you can go to see the party’s all over town with children day. (second Saturday) Teacher’s day on 16n January gives respects paying ceremonies to the teachers across Hua Hin.

February

Chinese new year is celebrated at Phonkingpet Public Park.

Maha Boocha is a gathering of 1250 of the lord Buddha’s disciples. Held in February or March.

In February is also the Balloon Festival in Hua Hin

March.

Hua Hin International Kite Festival. This brings participants from all over the country. I’s a day full of color. Usually held at Rama 4 Camp.

April.

Chakri Day on 6 April remembers that King Rama 1 came to the throne in 1782 and founded with this the Chakri Dynasty. HM the king presides over e religious ceremony, to pay respect to his predecessors.  A ceremony also takes place near the Memorial bridge, near to the flower market Pak Klog Talat, where a statue of King Rama 1 is build.

Songkran Festival; on April 13 the younger people will visit their elder relatives with a bowl of colorful petals and scented candles.

After Songran is the Tabtim Goddess Festival, a procession of God Somboon and other deities on Naresdamri Road, near Hilton Hotel, about 3pm. You can buy lotus flowers, candles and Incense and join the procession. Together there will be joining a lot of musicians from Pranburi

May.

Wisaka Boocha, usually in May, is the holiest Buddhist day, marking the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha. All over the day people go to temples to listen to sermons by revered monks and make merit. Shortly after sunset in the major temples take candlelit  circumambulations place.

The Honda Summer festival takes place on the beach. There is music as Bossanove, Reggea, Ska and Dance. Leading bands and DJ’s from all over the world come to Hua Hin for this festival.

June

The Hua Hin jazz festival is another great event that attracts thousands of local and overseas visitors. International artists and bands rotating their performance  between 2 stages in central downtown.  www.huahinjazzfestival.com

July

The Asan Boocha day honors the Buddha’s first sermon over 2.500 years ago. The full moon day of the 8ht lunar month marks this day. In the evening, candlelit processions take place in Buddhist temples all around

Leading hotels and resort organize in July the Shell Eating Festival because Hua Hin is famous for a source of sea shells. Shells food prepared by the local best chefs is on sale for special price. On display, and sale, are also fashion and decorative items made of shells.

November.

Loi Krathong (full moon festival) is celebrated early this month. Everywhere in the country people float boats bearing flowers, incense, a candle and a coin on lakes, rivers and sea. This results in a the most beautiful sight you can ever see.

Hua Hin Esarn Festival at the Sampan Club is organized since 2005 and attracts 2000 of Esran people.

December.

The 5th of December is Kings Birthday Celebrations. Als in Hua Hin buildings and houses are elaborately decorated  and illuminated.

The Hua Hin Food Festival early December helps to preserve tradition. It is held 4 days at the Royal Queens Park from 6.30pm till 01.00am.

Hua Hin Thai cultural Association Festival is organized to preserve Thai tradition and customs. It’s place is Pone Kings Park.

31 December Hua Hin residents from 6pm on gather around Queens Park  for the countdown to welcome New Year.
